Shopfront Refurbishment Scaffold in Leicester City Centre
Erecting scaffolding in busy pedestrian zones like Granby Street in Leicester requires careful planning. The constant flow of pedestrians present specific health and safety challenges. In addition to the typical risks of working at heights with scaffolding, additional safety measures are needed to protect the public.
In order for these works to be carried out safely, it is necessary to have a traffic management system in place, not only to control the movement of vehicles but also the movement of pedestrians.
Key Scaffolding Features
The refurbishment of San Carlo, a vibrant Mediterranean restaurant located on Granby Street, Leicester City Centre, necessitated the safe access of a fully boarded scaffold for facade cleaning, repairs and decoration.
The scaffold included a pedestrian protection lift fitted with foamed standards with rosette covers for the safety of passers-by and restaurant patrons.
The 12-lift high scaffold was erected using the Layher system scaffold. This system is ideally suited to commercial scaffolding works due to its speed of installation, and great aesthetic finish.
The scaffold was tied into the historic fabric of the building using masonry anchors.
Scaffolding in Public Spaces
We have extensive experience in scaffolding in public spaces and in commercial retail scaffolding. The pavement scaffolding on the Parade in Leamington Spa is another such example of shopfront scaffolding that we have carried out.
See Our Projects for many more examples of our work in the commercial scaffolding sector.
